What’s this project about?

Each year, around 1.4 million people worldwide are diagnosed with lung cancer, and unfortunately survival rates are very poor. We urgently need to find more effective treatments to improve the outcome for people with this disease. Dr Corinne Faivre-Finn is leading a major international clinical trial that aims to find the best treatment for small cell lung cancer (SCLC).

Project update

The trial has now recruited 21 patients at twelve different sites across the UK and Belgium. Over 90 other sites have expressed an interest in taking part too.

Why Support Voluntary Cancer Donation?

Hello, My name is David. I found this website on the Siemens My Deals site and it inspired me to join. I do have a personal reason for this which I will explain shortly. The goal of this group is to generate donations for a clinical trial to improve the treatment of lung cancer. Lung cancer affects millions of people worldwide and is one of the major forms of cancer around. With this, I hope to help people survive and live a better life after cancer. I saw him going from a great man, to a withered old body in less than a year. I wasn't even aware of how bad it was until he couldn't stay at home anymore because of the pain. He died while I was away from home and I always wanted to be able to do something about it. Hopefully this will help other people's grandparents, parents, siblings.... Kind Regards, David.
