Help me to help Tash's Bashes

My Story

My friend Tash, along with a group of friends have formed Tash's Bashes - supporting research into Secondary Breast Cancer research. Every year more than 49,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK, making it the most common form of cancer. That's one in eight women that will develop it in their lifetime. During the 1970s around 5 out of 10 women with breast cancer survived beyond 5 years. Now that figure stands at 8 out of 10. However Tash is one of those unlucky 2 out of 10 that won't survive. And that's why Tash's Bashes is here. Our aim is to raise 50k to fund a researcher for a year. We want to help Cancer Research in their battle to beat cancer and we need your support. I thought about how I could help and have decided to say 'yes' to a host of random activities, pushing me out of my comfort zone, all in the hope that my friends and family will encourage me by helping to raise funds for Tash's Bashes. 2014 involved: Not the Roman IX 12k run in January, Warwick Half Marathon in March, Leamington Regency 10k and Wolf Run 10k in April, 75 mile cycle in May, Ragley Hall Triathlon and The Two Castles 10k in June, 14 mile Cumbria walk in July, London Triathlon in August and the Cambridge Spartan Race in September. Due to injury late last year, my planned Tandem Skydive had to be postponed until 2015, which is now due to take place on 1st May. I'm terrified quite frankly!! Any support you can give to Tash's Bashes and encouragement for me as a result would be a MASSIVE help. Thank you for your support.

CAUSE

Breast cancer

With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
