Walter Todd - raising £ for prostate cancer

Having recently lost my father (Walter Todd) to prostate cancer I felt it was time to ‘do my bit’ and raise money to help fund research into this particular disease and hopefully prevent other families suffering this sad loss.

The charity selected is a Glasgow based research team dedicated to discovering new drugs to treat prostate cancer – all money raised will go directly to this project.

To raise money we have assembled an ‘elite team of non runners’ and will be competing in the Edinburgh relay marathon on the 22nd May 2011.

The team of 4 (now 5 with the late addition of Terry Stout - see below for more info) are: George 'Ducati' Ducat, Alleeeee Taylor, Kirsten Stanger and Linda Todd. The team are a real mixed bag, previous running experience varies greatly and includes:

It’s all over! The Hairy Haggii completed the relay in an amazing 4hrs38mins. All team members emerged relatively unscathed apart from a little sunburn from the unexpected Edinburgh sunshine. It was an early start as an 'apprehensive' Allie and George set off...

It’s all over! The Hairy Haggii completed the relay in an amazing 4hrs38mins. All team members emerged relatively unscathed apart from a little sunburn from the unexpected Edinburgh sunshine.

It was an early start as an 'apprehensive' Allie and George set off on foot before 8am for their Shuttle buses to get to the change over points. Linda set off round Holyrood a little after 10 and Kirsten (the flying Orcadian) crossed the line at 14.54pm. Team Toddlers were 560th in their event.

El Tel achieved a fantastic 3hrs 58mins in the Marathon, maintaining 8.5 min miles until mile 18, then 9min miles to the 22mile marker and then he hit the Wall...!

He's managed a few long runs to date with no adverse effects (unless a rapid acceleration of the effects of alcohol post run counts, photographic evidence will be posted on the web if donations are forthcoming).

Duck Race Sat 23rd April - Sold Out!!

All places are taken in the Fordoun Duck Race with less than a week to go and raising over £800 for the Toddlers!! An amazing amount! Well done to all the duck sellers who perfected the art of pouncing on folk (armed with duck form) at their most vulnerable i.e ..at about drink No 4!!

Final preparations are taking place at Duck HQ. Michael has had his duster out and blown the cobwebs off the BBQ for the post race celebrations.Believe he also gave the Malts a light flick over too....! Just need the weather to continue as it has been.....

Finally ,welcome back Kirsten..! Hope your hair's better...
