Walter Todd - raising £ for prostate cancer

Having recently lost my father (Walter Todd) to prostate cancer I felt it was time to ‘do my bit’ and raise money to help fund research into this particular disease and hopefully prevent other families suffering this sad loss.

The charity selected is a Glasgow based research team dedicated to discovering new drugs to treat prostate cancer – all money raised will go directly to this project.

To raise money we have assembled an ‘elite team of non runners’ and will be competing in the Edinburgh relay marathon on the 22nd May 2011.

The team of 4 (now 5 with the late addition of Terry Stout - see below for more info) are: George 'Ducati' Ducat, Alleeeee Taylor, Kirsten Stanger and Linda Todd. The team are a real mixed bag, previous running experience varies greatly and includes:

1) Nil, why run when you can drive? (unless your battery is flat!) - Kirsten

Team Colours Selection Process Begins!

Team Members kindly modelled the choice of running strip colours.Sadly the Australian sun appears to have affected 'Kirstens' hair and turned it an interesting shade of purple....We still await George to cast his vote...have a feeling he may opt for the nice stripey one,....And with our new trim athletic figures, the hoop style pattern would no longer accentuate any old lumps and bumps we had,so I'm with you George!

Brainteaser Quizzes sell out...!

Just days after being launched, sales of Annie Taylors brainteasers rocketed. Indeed Deeside Podiatry, Banchory reported selling out within 2 days! The quizzes are available from the team and at various outlets across Aberdeenshire. Hours of fun for 50p with the potential to win big!... John Lewis Vouchers if you please!!

We also bid farewell to Kirsten today who heads off to Oz. Christina, her travelling companion, has promised to occasionally throw her out of the camper van and drive off to ensure her training continues....Have fun ladies!!

1/2 Marathon Success In Arctic Conditions!!

I took 2hrs12mins,making me 932nd....as I am not as advanced in years as Terry I cannot make this sound any better by relaying it to you as part of the old folk results only....My knees and hips do however feel like thats the category they belong to!
