Walter Todd - raising £ for prostate cancer

Having recently lost my father (Walter Todd) to prostate cancer I felt it was time to ‘do my bit’ and raise money to help fund research into this particular disease and hopefully prevent other families suffering this sad loss.

The charity selected is a Glasgow based research team dedicated to discovering new drugs to treat prostate cancer – all money raised will go directly to this project.

To raise money we have assembled an ‘elite team of non runners’ and will be competing in the Edinburgh relay marathon on the 22nd May 2011.

The team of 4 (now 5 with the late addition of Terry Stout - see below for more info) are: George 'Ducati' Ducat, Alleeeee Taylor, Kirsten Stanger and Linda Todd. The team are a real mixed bag, previous running experience varies greatly and includes:

1) Nil, why run when you can drive? (unless your battery is flat!) - Kirsten

AT has her TA fixed and is back in business!

The Toddlers would like to express their gratitude to the back room staff as without their support and dedication we wouldnt be back on the road...(so cheers Barclay..!! - Allie says running in her high heels was the best advice you ever gave her..)

George is currently resting,still waiting on his spare parts apparently.He assures us though that training continues in the confines of his livingroom with his favourite Jane Fonda DVDs......George your meant to participate not just sit there in your mankini and watch it!!

Update from duck HQ...Race scheduled provisionally for sat 23rd April at a random burn near Fourdon ...More details to follow,Michelle when are you free to do your offshore survival training.....safety first!!

George unable to train today although no doubt STILL taking liquids on board even as we speak!!Rumour has it George was away for the fitting of his race day mankini ala Scott Brown!!

Training going well, Leenda has managed a 10 mile run 20th Jan, followed by a 13mile run on Sat 22nd Jan along the railway line, no blisters on feet but hips feel like they have been swapped with a 70 year old...!

Sightings have been reported of a mysterious figure tearing up the Balmashanner hill in Forfar – could this be the infamous George Ducati Ducat?

Allie T’s training continues around the streets of Bucksburn, although she is still being very guarded about time/distances covered. Reports have it that Allie has positioned bottled oxygen at strategic points on her route!?

No sightings to date of the lesser spotted Kirsten – has she located her trainers yet?

First official training date scheduled for Wed 26th – hope the Haggis has settled otherwise it could be a windy run. George has assured us he will join in remotely.

First donation received from LT’s injury prone training partner – Isla woof Todd.
