Walter Todd - raising £ for prostate cancer
Having recently lost my father (Walter Todd) to prostate cancer I felt it was time to ‘do my bit’ and raise money to help fund research into this particular disease and hopefully prevent other families suffering this sad loss.
The charity selected is a Glasgow based research team dedicated to discovering new drugs to treat prostate cancer – all money raised will go directly to this project.
To raise money we have assembled an ‘elite team of non runners’ and will be competing in the Edinburgh relay marathon on the 22nd May 2011.
The team of 4 (now 5 with the late addition of Terry Stout - see below for more info) are: George 'Ducati' Ducat, Alleeeee Taylor, Kirsten Stanger and Linda Todd. The team are a real mixed bag, previous running experience varies greatly and includes:
1) Nil, why run when you can drive? (unless your battery is flat!) - Kirsten
2) Running to get to the bar - Allie
3) The Inverness 1/2 marathon – Linda (under duress)
4) A full military training albeit 20 years ago – George.
As of 15/01/11 the training has started – well for some!
It would be very much appreciated if you could support this worthwhile cause.

Stop Press: As of 23rd April we have a new team member Terry (El Tel) Stout. Having successfully completed a couple of long runs he has joined the fund raising team and will be running the full 26.2miles.
