This page includes the money raised last year which was £1,800. Sk84life is a roller-skating charity event in aid of cancer research, run by kids, for kids. On the 16th of May children from all over Dorset are invited to roller-skate as many laps as possible from 1:45 – 2:45. The event, held previous years also, has raised a total of over £3000 for the charity Cancer Research UK. Sk8 4 life was set up by Emily Coleman in 2012; her aim was to raise £500 for cancer research by doing something she loved. She soon got the support of family members and friends and sk8 4 life was born. In 2013 we held our first sk8 4 life at Winton recreation park, the idea was that children between the ages of 7 and 16 would get sponsored to roller skate, scooter or skateboard around the running track as many times as possible within the provided time. Due to the sponsorship and money collected on the day, the event raised a huge £2000 for the cause. This year sk8 4 life is back and bigger! This year's event will be held at Sir David English Sports Centre in association with the 'roller-skating company' Rolltate Ltd. There will also be a variety of fun activities going on throughout the hour such as a photo booth and chocolate tombola.
