So I'm coming to the end of my drug treatment and what better way to say Thank You to all the people working on the trial than by fundraising for Cancer Research Skin Cancer projects. My target amount to raise is £2300, so I have enlisted my family & friends to help me. The idea for our fundraiser had to be physically, mentally and emotionally challenging, otherwise you kind people would not feel obliged to sponsor us some of your hard-earned cash! The idea we have settled on is....

....The Major’s Challenge. I think what it technically can be described as is a ‘fun run’ but I’ll let you watch the video link and decide for yourselves! It's advertised as "not just a run. It's a major challenge. Running, Mud, Water, Hills, Obstacles." Yep, that sounds like fun?!?!!

We have opted for the 5km option as there is less than 2 months to go ( too little time to prepare our fitness!) plus I’m still managing my lymphedema and my leg swells up a lot if I exercise so I’m hoping the Major’s Challenge doesn’t finish me off!
We will race on the 10th March 2012 near Telford in Shropshire. So please dig deep and sponsor Skin Cancer Research.
The money raised up to the 2nd March 2012 goes to Professor Middleton's research project in Oxford (Skin Cancer: predicting the future) which Reb was fortunate enough to participate in. All money submitted after that date will go to the current skin cancer projects (Skin Cancer: Studying the disease from all angles) which includes research by Professor Irene Leigh at the University of Dundee and Professor Julia Newton-Bishop, from the Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine
Reb's Recruits are: Reb (obviously) - Joanne Kemp - Kelly Boyes - Hannah McDonald - Jeni McDonald - Harriet McDonald - Victoria McDonald - Duncan McDonald - June McMinn - Tom Dring - Nadia McMinn - and 2 recruits who are AWOL on the day of the race.....Katherine Kodikara & Dani Moynes
