Each year, almost 8,000 people are diagnosed with the disease in the UK alone - that's around 150 people each week. 

My grandad was diagnosed with Oesophagus cancer in 2009 and had an operation which worked and removed the cancer first time round,  but then after a while the cancer came back in 2010 and we discovered that he now has terminal Oesophagus cancer and he cannot undergo surgery again. He recently had 3 week blocks of chemotherapy and we found out that hadn't worked..
