#Martin's# Preston Guild 2012 Marathon
raising funds for Cancer Research UK
A colleague, and friend, recently died from prostate cancer.
My lovely father-in-law is also battling it.
I'm hoping I can raise a little bit of money towards this research into new drugs to help combat one of the most common cancers in Britain.
This is the first race I've ever entered. I haven't run at all for 30 years, and indeed have only taken up running 12 months ago, so its going to be challenging. But if you can see your way clear to putting your hands in your collective pockets to sponsor me, I'm willing to do the hard bit! :-)
So, please, contribute any amount, however small, to a worthy cause.
All i need to do now is run 26.2 miles in October.... :-O
