Last minute but supporting a great cause!
The Bobby Moore Fund raises money for bowel cancer research as part of Cancer Research UK. One of the ways they fundraise is through interntional trips where they work with local partnerships and in 2012 the project is to a remote farming community in central Brazil to build a school. With three weeks to go, unfortunately some participants had to drop out. The team has committed to complete certain amounts of work and need the full level of particiapants. I have worked with this charity before and know the great work they do so when I realised I had available vacation and the flexibility I really wanted to take part. Even though I have signed up for this close to the project I have a fundraising target for Bowel Cancer Research. Did you know that bowel cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death, claiming around 44 lives each day in the UK but that if diagnosed at the earliest stage over 9 out 10 bowel cancer patients will survive their disease more than 5 years? I would really appreciate it if you can sponsor me but if you can't please do take a look at the website so that you can recognise the symptoms of bowel cancer early and get checked out! Thanks Liz http://bobbymoorefund.cancerresearchuk.org/bowel-cancer/
CAUSE
Bowel cancer
Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer and half of people diagnosed will now survive for at least 10 years. But with bowel cancer still claiming around 43 lives each day, more research still needs to be done. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
