Brad and myself have decided to do a 30 mile charity bike ride around Kent and the surrounding areas for prostate cancer. We have chosen prostate cancer because my granddad (Mervyn) has and continuing to battle prostate cancer. Mervyn was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2010. At the time Mervyns treatment was surgical removal of the prostate gland however some cancer cells were still prevalent in the prostate cavity causing the cancer to stay and grow. Treatment continues to prevent the further growth of cancer cells in the body. Your donations will are gratefully appreciated and will go towards further research to irradicate more men from suffering from prostate cancer in the UK.
CAUSE
Pioneering new treatment for prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. World leading expert, Professor Hing Leung, is testing a range of chemicals to see whether they can bring prostate cancer cells back under control. He hopes this early-stage research will lead to better treatments for men in the future.
