Julie Goes to Brazil 2012
Keeping my promise.

It is with huge sadness that I have to pull out of the project this year as I have broken my wrist. I still plan to take part in an overseas project in the future - just not this year! 44 PEOPLE still losing their lives everday to this awful disease so the fundraising will go on! Massive thanks and so much love to everyone who is helping me in my endeavours to make a small difference :)
Oh, my goodness! Who would have thought we would reach £5000 by 1st July? I am so very grateful, over whelmed and excited! Thankyou to everyone! Let's keep going, see how much we can get to! Ron would have been bowled over! :)
I am so excited to have a place on this years Bobby Moore fundraising trip to Brazil as it is something I promised my lovely hubby, Ron, that I would do just before he died from Bowel Cancer in August 2010. It's also great to be doing something really positive as, tragi... more

I am so excited to have a place on this years Bobby Moore fundraising trip to Brazil as it is something I promised my lovely hubby, Ron, that I would do just before he died from Bowel Cancer in August 2010. It's also great to be doing something really positive as, tragically, bowel cancer also claimed the lives of my grandma, aunt and uncle on my mum's side of the family.
Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK and the second most common cause of cancer death but caught early is curable. Money raised from this project will go to cutting edge research that will help to identify people genetically most likely to be at risk and therefore enable early screening.
The overseas project this year is a ten day project to a remote farming community in central Brazil and will involve working with the local people to help build a new school, vital, as this will allow the children to go to school in their own village rather than the 30k travel which they have presently.
I am planning to organise some fun events throught out the next few months and will be so thankful for any help along the way to raise the £5000 needed.
This is also about raising awareness, as bowel cancer is a largely preventable disease. Please take a moment to check out the bobbymoorefund site to find advice on diet and lifestyle. Just arrow back and scroll down.
I would really love to thank everyone who contributes so if not registering can you please include your name at the end of your message.
Thank you everyone and here's to lots of fun along the way!
