Remembering Irene
inAid was formed following the loss of my wife Irene to lung cancer in April 2009. It was all so quick. In September we were climbing mountains in Greece. In December Irene had a painful hip. In January we were told the worst. On April 15th she died. This is the problem with lung cancer. Very often, by the time any symptoms appear, it is already too late. Irene's cancer had spread to her hip and to her liver while we were still blissfully enjoying life together, unaware of what was happening inside her. Lung cancer is now the biggest killer of all the cancers but the level of research has failed to reflect this awful statistic. Survival rates for breast, bowel and prostate cancers have significantly improved over recent years as a result of increased research. This research project could make a difference. Please donate to this project because early diagnosis is key to increasing the survival rates for lung cancer to the levels we see for other cancers. Thank you.
