We are incredibly proud to have come this far and are very close to reaching our target of £1000, so if you are able to give a little to help us get there, it would be hugely appreciated.
Our mum, Kath, passed away on 28th February 2012, less than 4 months after she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Kath was a strong person who was never afraid to speak her mind; she was great fun to be around and will be sadly missed by us all. She was only 62 years old.
She spoke openly and matter-of-factly about her illness and was aware of the devastatingly poor survival rates for people with pancreatic cancer; most people dying within six months of finding out they have the disease. We were all aware of this - but hoped of course that she would be one of the small percentage of people who survive longer.
