Support Our Fight
Almost 7,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year. This makes ovarian cancer the 5th most common cancer in women. Last year, our Mum was one of the women diagnosed. We were lucky - after having an 18lb tumour removed, she survived. Women diagnosed with ovarian cancer are now twice as likely to survive beyond 5 years and live longer with their family and friends than those diagnosed in the early 1970s. But around 4,300 women still lose their lives to this disease each year. Laura & I will be doing Race for Life in July to raise money to fund research and clinical projects focused on beating ovarian cancer and improving the lives of the thousands of women affected by it. Hopefully this is enough reason to donate, if not please donate in sympathy of me having to give up fags and cake and start running!
CAUSE
Ovarian cancer
Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common cancer in UK women, with more than 130 women every week told that they have the disease. It is often not diagnosed until it has spread, making it harder to treat. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to detect ovarian cancer earlier and find better treatments.
