Half marathon in memory of Kevin Geraghty

My Father in law Kev, first started to feel unwell around Christmas time. His only symptoms were a loss of appetite and a constant feeling of fullness. In January he went to see his GP and was sent for further tests. On 6th February 2013 he was diagnoised with stomach cancer which had also spread to his pancreas and liver, he was given six to twelve months left to live. The family were totally shocked by this news. We never expected him to have cancer, but to learn that he was terminal was devastating. We spent this time together as a family taking holidays and trips together that we probably would never have taken. Kev very sadly passed away on 14th August 2013 surrounded by his daughters Yvonne and Jenny and their mum Colette. We are all left heartbroken by his passing so shortly after diagnosis. Kev was such a caring and thoughtful man, always putting others before himself. This is why we have chosen to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause in his memory. Our hope is that one day other families who recieve the same shocking news, stand a much better chance of survival. Donations will be kindly recieved at Kevs funeral. I am also running The English Half Marathon in Warrington on Sunday 8th Septemeber in Kev's memory and to try and raise even more money for a cause that will always be very close to our hearts.
