Graham: A precious son, brother, friend

My Story

Graham was a friendly, hardworking, intelligent, young man whose life was suddenly taken with Cancer Unknown Primary on the 22nd July 2012 aged just 26 years old. Graham was an avid supporter of Preston North End. He got his first season ticket with PNE when he was 6 and he was the first school pupil to complete a work placement with his beloved football club. Graham remained a loyal supporter throughout his short life. As a young boy he attended Fulwood and Cadley Primary School, Preston. He then became a pupil of Archbishop Temple High School in Fulwood and following this joined Preston College. From here, Graham went on to study at the University of Salford, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Business Information Technology. After University he travelled around Australia, New Zealand and Thailand for a year. During this time he worked for six months in Sydney. Graham was a natural traveller and had further dreams for trips overseas. Through travel he developed a deeper appreciation of life, culture, family and friends. On his return to the UK, Graham settled in Manchester where he worked for The British Medical Council. Graham was a very healthy, active young man and showed no signs of illness. In late June 2012 however, he started having back pains and was sent to A&E. Less than 4 weeks later Graham sadly died. He passed away suddenly but peacefully on 22nd July 2012. Despite the pain of his cancer, Graham remained chatty, witty and positive right up until the end of his short life. He died age 26. Tests showed that Graham had cancer but doctors were unable to locate the primary cancer, where the cancer started. Graham died of Primary Unknown Cancer (C.U.P) Thank you to each and every one of you that helps us raise money and supports Graham's fundraising target. It is important for us to keep Graham's precious memory alive by raising money for vital research and speedy diagnostic testing through this dedicated fundraising page for Graham. Cancer Unknown Primary (CUP) needs to become a thing of the past. All cancers needs to be detected quickly but this can only be achieved by supporting vital Cancer Research.
