Fundraising for Rare Cancers

My Story

We have set up this page for donations in memory of Alan Watton who sadly passed away recently having suffered an ocular melanoma. One in every five cancers is a rare cancer, making rare cancers more widespread than any single common cancer. The International Rare Cancers Initiative was founded to improve the treatment for patients with rare cancers, including supporting new clinical trials and helping to bring these much needed treatments to patients more quickly. For many rare cancers there is very little information on the best treatment for patients and no major trials taking place.

Rare cancers are varied and can be very different from each other, but they also have one important thing in common - it can be a real challenge for researchers to find enough patients to take part in clinical trials testing new treatments. Help Cancer Research UK boost research into rare cancers.
