Your HELP is needed
I'm reaching out to you today to ask for you to donate to a cause that means a lot to me; Breast Cancer Awareness. Breast cancer has had an impact on important people in my life. My first thoughts? Why ? What have we done wrong for this to happen ? The truth is you always just hear about someone else being affected, never your own family/friend, right ? That's when it hit home to me that we haven't done anything wrong, there was no reason, it was just something that was out of anyone's control. It was devastating but the key was to think positive. No one should ever have to go through it, but they do. More than 48,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Thanks partly to the contribution of scientists in advancing prevention, diagnosis and treatment, more than 8 out of 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK now survive the disease beyond five years. What exactly are you Donating to? Thanks to Professor Hiom's work, we can understand more about how BRCA1 and other molecules involved in DNA repair work and what they do. This could be used to find new ways of diagnosing and treating breast cancer, both in women who have inherited faulty BRCA1 genes and those who haven't. Lets beat Cancer, together!
CAUSE
Breast cancer
With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
