On Saturday 1st August 2015 I will be taking part the lakes 10k Total Warrior event to raise money for vital research into childrens cancer. Every year in the UK around 1600 children are given the news that they have cancer and although treatments have improved over the years, tragically around 250 children still lose their life to cancer every year. Thanks to improvements in treatments, 8 in 10 children will survive but this is not enough so please, please, please dig deep and show your support.
CAUSE
Pioneering research into childhood leukaemia
Every day around 11 young people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer. The most common form is acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, a cancer of white blood cells. Professor Josef Vormoor’s pioneering research looks at how special cells within the cancer are driving the tumours to come back after treatment.
