Dear all, I still remember sitting at university and receiving a call from my mum crying on the phone to tell me "your dad has cancer." At that moment, I felt numb and could not believe what I was hearing. I questioned myself time and time again. Why him? Hasn't he had his fair share of illnesses TB and meningitis which left him disabled that he now he has cancer? At that time I thought ‘this is it, he's not going to pull through this one’. Luckily I was wrong; my Dad has fought his battle with incredible strength and has survived his difficult journey. It has been a big lifestyle change for him but he's doing well with God’s grace. I promised myself I will do a big fund raiser to help raise money for bowel cancer one day and 8 years on I have the opportunity and here I am fulfilling my promise. I also learnt that Cancer doesn't choose who it happens to. You can be rich/poor/good/bad and it can still happen to you. It doesn't ask you can I be a part of your life…. It just happens.

So here's my challenge:

"Bikram Yogathon"

35 Days to complete 35 classes of Bikram Yoga aka hot yoga.

Each class is 90 minutes long in a studio that is heated to 40-45 degrees, going through a series of 26 postures.....

The challenge here is I'm only allowed to take one rest day per week and to complete the challenge on time means I may have to double up on classes at least one day a week or consecutively complete 35 classes back to back.

Anyone who has tried Bikram Yoga will tell you how difficult it is staying in the room for the 90 minutes! so having to do two classes in one day is going to be painful but not as painful as what people with cancer are going through or have been through!

Those that know me well will know how I can't stand the heat and find it hard to be quiet, so it will be very challenging for me to do these classes!
